• Registered and have Clean Record with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario
• Experience with treating MVA & EHC patients. Knowledge of generating Treatment Plans and other relevant reports
• Able to collaborate well with the team in a professional environment

We are looking for a Family Physician for our Family Practice but additional specialties are welcome! Experienced physicians as well as new graduates are welcomed. Supervision also available.

LOCATION: We have a number of clinics across Ontario, including KITCHENER, LONDON, ETOBICOKE, HAMILTON

RESPONSIBILITIES: (included but not limited to)

• Provide primary care services
• Conduct patient exams
• Order/interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
• Prescribe medicine or implement treatments
• Update patient charts and EMRs

REQUIREMENTS:

• Broad knowledge, background, and interest in the practice of family medicine or other additional specialty
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Two to five years of experience including residency in primary care settings
• Proficiency and experience working in a computerized environment.
• Medical degree and family medicine residency from a recognized university.
• CCFP certification
• Current registration with and member in good standing with the CPSO.

Salary: $20.00 – $23.00/Hour (salary dependent on candidate experience)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week (All shifts are dependent upon physicians’ scheduled hours, must be available daytimes/evenings/weekends as required)

About the Job

We are looking for someone to work closely with Physicians and perform a range of clinical, clerical and managerial tasks that help maintain organization and keep the facility running efficiently. Administrative tasks will include scheduling appointments, answering calls, fielding patients’ questions, taking patients’ medical history and filing and maintaining patient records. In addition to their clerical responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to perform a variety of clinical tasks and work under several physicians. The candidate will be required to aid the physicians during patient checkups and record patient vitals before they meet with the physicians.

Responsibilities:

• Take vitals based on nature of visit (temperature, height, weight and blood pressure), and record patients’ health history

• Administer injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests

• Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams

• Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies

• Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients

• Check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange laboratory services

• Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments

• Complete/process paperwork and invoices as requested by physician

• Handle/transport specimens as per protocol

• Ensure appropriate handling/storage of government provided vaccines according to Toronto Public Health guidelines

• Handle liquid nitrogen as per guidelines

• Handle billing process

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program required.

• Knowledge of EMR technology (Preferred: ACCURO, CHR TELUS), Training available

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

• Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures

• Present a cheerful, friendly, and professional image to patients and fellow employees

• Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies

• Flexible to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and work under pressure

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times

• Must be detail-oriented and highly organized

• Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times

•Experience in OHIP Billing

•First aid & CPR certification

•Managerial/Team Lead Experience an asset
