At SimpliCare, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, integrated care to the communities we serve.

Integral to this care are our knowledgeable staff, physicians and health providers who put the needs of our patients first. To maintain the best environment possible for everyone who attends our clinics, patients and visitors must abide by the following Standards of Behaviour.

This policy applies to all staff, physicians, health providers, visitors and patients who work for or receive services at SimpliCare clinics.

By accessing services at SimpliCare clinics, I agree:

  • To be courteous and respectful to all Simplicare clinic staff, physicians, and healthcare providers.
  • To be considerate of clinic staff and physicians in the event of a delay to my appointment. I understand that, due to the nature of the clinic’s work, more urgent cases may present themselves and be prioritized before mine, which may occasionally result in late or cancelled appointments on short notice.
  • To be considerate of fellow patients and visitors while visiting the clinic and always maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • To maintain up-to-date records with the clinic, including my personal contact information.
  • To ensure that any children under my care are always supervised while visiting the clinic and do not disrupt or interfere with clinic operations or other patients or visitors.
  • To defer to the recommendation of my healthcare provider when it comes to deciding which medical problems need to be addressed immediately, and which can be deferred to a subsequent appointment.
  • To respect the professional opinion and judgement of clinic physicians and healthcare providers when it comes to providing medical services, assessments, prescriptions, diagnostic tests and treatments. I understand that physicians/healthcare providers are under no obligation to conduct tests or treatment that they deem to be inappropriate, unnecessary or outside the scope of their practice.
  • To respect the physician-patient relationship. I understand that there are situations which may lead to a physician ending this relationship, including but not limited to prescription-related fraud; frequently missed appointments with little or no notice or cause; inappropriate or threatening behaviour; or when a patient refuses to pay an outstanding fee. I also understand that, prior to ending the physician-patient relationship, physicians must apply good clinical judgment and consider each situation on a case-by-case basis.
  • To go directly to my nearest hospital Emergency Department or dial 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency. I understand that SimpliCare clinic is not a hospital or urgent care clinic and there are limitations to the services the clinic can provide.

To maintain a safe and healthy environment for those attending our clinics,
the following behaviours are strictly prohibited:

  • Possessing firearms, weapons or other item(s) that may be perceived as a threat.
  • Menacing fellow visitors, staff, or physicians, by engaging in horseplay, throwing things, wrestling or harassment.
  • Assaulting or threatening to assault another person.
  • Engaging in intimidating behaviour of any kind, including by making harassing, defamatory, slanderous, offensive, racist, sexist or threatening statements.
  • Damaging business equipment or property.
  • Fraudulent activity of any kind, including those related to insurance, prescription, tests and referrals.
  • Illegal or unethical activity.

SimpliCare takes a zero-tolerance approach to the prohibited behaviours described above. Any individual who exhibits such behaviours may be removed from the facility and/or prohibited from attending any other Simplicare clinic, at SimpliCare’s sole discretion. Please report any violations to a staff member immediately.

At SimpliCare, we strive for the best for our patients and the communities we serve. We welcome respectful and constructive feedback and look forward to continuing to find ways to serve you.

Thank you for understanding and following our Standards of Behaviour and for doing your part to keep our communities safe and healthy.
